Philteroid - Free Filter Vst Effect

Philteroid is a dual filter effect, suitable for use on various type of rhythmic sounds (i.e. drums, bass, synth, guitar).

Beside pure filter work, Philteroid is also capable of FM, AM and saturation, and can transform plain sound to one with unique character and interesting texture.

Various filter types, from basic (LP, BP, HP, BR) to uncommon ones, can be obtained with filter type blend control and parallel/serial routing of filters. Flexfilterbank 2 is a 8 filter bands plug-in.

There are 8 filter bands, each with a volume and frequency knob. The overall bandwidth of the filters can be adjusted too. Feed it with noise, strings, drums or voice to get vocoder-like effects, enhance or damp frequencies or get special effects. The emulation of electronic circuits also allows for overdrive the input or output section.

The Filtermate - Free Filter Vst Effect

The Filtermate was built as a Rhythmic Filter module, it is designed for making automated or non-automated filter processing to any given audio material that is fed into it with just the minimum of controllers.

It can almost instantly animate your tracks in a way that could make it quite an indispensable tool in your virtual studio. Basically it consists on a Clock driver that animates an Lfo (Low frequency oscillator) which is coupled to a multimode filter and a mixer, a design very often found in the filter section of many vintage synthesizers (with some extra tweaks here and there), but this time as an independent plugin for you to tweak at your own will.

TAL-Filter II - Free Filter Vst Effect

TAL-Filter-2 is a host synced filter module with different filter types, panorama and volume modulation possibilities.

GLS - Free Filter Vst Effect

GLS "Get Lost, Singer!" is an virtual effect plug-in which allows you to remove vocals from songs.

It works on the principle of "central channel subtraction", where singer's voice is usually located.
In addition, the plug-in is able to preserve bass and drums, which are also often located in the center of the stereo space and may suffer along with the voice.
GLS! is well suited for music with good stereo separation and a dry vocal, slightly worse for a wet vocal, and not suitable for mono tracks. However wet vocals can also be slightly muted by narrowing the stereo before processing.

Do not expect magic. GLS! will remove not only the voice: some other musical instruments or sounds may also disappear or become corrupt, and the song loses stereo. But in some cases the result is quite acceptable.

Formantbank - Free Filter Vst Effect

Formantbank is a fixed filter bank plugin for Windows VST hosts.

There are 12 filter bands, each with a volume fader plug additional low and high shelving filters. In fact the bands are not complete "fixed" - their frequencies can be shifted all together with the "FORMANT" knob.

A special strong effect can be obtained by turning the resonance up. The filtered and the original signal can be blended from 0% - 100%.

Noisebud Filter - Free Filter Vst Effect

Noisebud filter consists of 4 filters. They are switchable between:

Lo pass, hi pass, band pass, band reject filter

The signals from the four filters are wired in a parallel chain. Every filter can be controlled by three different LFO's where one is tempo synced; one normal and one extremely slow (a sLoFO). The LFO sections also have something we call VariFO. It adds another movement to the LFO and makes it less predictable. Every filter has an invert button so that you can silence frequencies that collide during heavy LFO movements, this and the VariFO is probably what make Noisebud filter in somewhat special.
